Last month, the team at T & C Services went to Brands Hatch for the annual Festival Italia! We were there to support Bell Sport & Classic, who we sponsor. Despite a mid-morning shower bringing qualifying sessions to halt, there was plenty of opportunities to see some fantastic Ferraris and Alpha Romeos on show.
Bell Sport & Classic raced in two Ferrari 360 Challenges. Firstly, the Ferrari Club Racing Open Challenge. During qualifying, the session was stopped due to the wet weather, but thankfully it dried up enough to have the full race a few hours later. Peter Smith, driving the classic red Ferrari was running 4th until he had a big spin-off. Impressively he managed to get the car back on track and finished the race in 5th position. Matt Wilton in the other Ferrari was forced to retire from the race with some issues.
The second race, Italiano vs Rest of the World Allcomers Race was a 15-minute battle beginning with Peter Smith in pole position leading Peter Challis in the Porsche 997 Cup. As the pair battled, they reached the back runners and the Porsche overtook the Ferrari and lead the race, but Peter came squeezing back between two cars on the paddock straight to take back 1st place and win the race!
Thankfully the recovery team, D & G Assist, were not kept too busy during the day, but it was good to see them there on hand and ready to assist.
A wonderful day had by the team and all the families that attended. We can’t wait for the next one!
